Our Zero Waste strategy, composting inside the Coliving

Inf about how to separete well in the bins

We feel responsible for our garbage, reducing as much as possible the amount we produce is one of our main goals.

In our Eco Coliving we already separate in 5 different containers, plastic, paper, glass, compostable and non compostable.

The compostable bin is only for fruit, vegetables, eggs and coffee.

From that bin and after measurement we put it in our vermicomposter, where we have worms.

I have to say that after a couple of weeks, you get used to managing your garbage with “confidence”, if the process is done correctly, no smell should come from the vermicomposter, we have it next to the Chill out, where people sit down to talk and work.

After some months, we can have a beautiful compost that can be used in our growing tables in the terrace, creating a circular process turning our waste into resources.

We have been collecting data of our garbage since 2022. This data lets us understand how healthy we are, how much food we are throwing away, and how bad our Zero waste strategy is running.

We build our composter ourselves with the measurements that we thought were the best for our small house, it’s not difficult, if you have the right tools.

We compost in our Coliving, but also in a communitary composter near the house in a High School, in a project we have been working on for the last years.

If you want to come to the Coliving to see our composter, or need worms, just let us know, and we will be happy to help you compost in your house or company…
