La Isleta is one of the most unknown places in Gran Canaria, and that is something that our EcoIsleta Coliving Canary Islands wants to change.
La Isleta is a unique place full of history, community, volcanos, beaches, and many other attractions…
Every week, we invite all members of our Coliving Canarias, to walk in a path of viewpoints over El Confital, with one of us.
We start in the Coliving, in the heart of the neighborhood, surrounded by houses and cars, but after a 5 minutes walk in the streets, we get to a natural area, full of beauty…
It’s not a hard walk, 1,5 hours, but you can see the bays and the city from a different perspective.
You don’t expect to see so much nature next to the city, we walk through volcanos, and also see some others from some distance.
We find Archaeological sites that talk about the people who lived on the island before the Europeans came to conquer the Canary Islands.
It is the perfect place to understand how La Isleta was a separate island from the main island, Gran Canaria.
It’s an opportunity to understand our history, why we have such a big port, why are all those mountains a military area, and so on…
One of the main purposes of our Coliving is to build a bridge between our culture and anybody who wants to understand us…
Sometimes we do it with a few people, but also with one coliver, and it’s a great experience for all of us…
If you are thinking about coming to the Canary Islands to work while having a good impact in the local community, you are in the right place…
