Build community and connections: our Coliving

Our guests building community and connections with the students at IES La Isleta
Our first event building a community with the students at IES La Isleta

How we started

Our main goal has always been to make a positive change in our surroundings, and our new Coliving was not going to be out of that vision. So, we started with the idea of build a community and connections inside of the house, making sure that the people staying there has certain values and goals in common. But we won’t stop there, because we also really care about our own neighborhood and the people living here.

Naturally, with the development of technology everything seems to go faster and so the human connections get lost. Undeniably, this is not only a bad thing for ourselves as people but also as workers. We need to be building community and connections constantly, on a psychological and health level! There can be so many new ideas, new businesses and new projects if we build a healthy and rich network. Taking all of this into consideration, we are committed to encourage connections between our guests and our locals. We want to build a strong, positive and healthy community.

Our compromise and how to achieve it.

That’s why we have the compromise with ourselves, our guests and our neighborhood. To make sure the people staying at the house will have a positive and tangible impact on our society. To build a community.

One example is our first public event, where we took the guests that were staying at the house in that moment to one of the local public high schools (IES La Isleta). They interacted with them and explained what it meant to be a digital nomad. Also, they shared some tips how to achieve it if that’s what they want.

Obviously, to the teenagers was amazing to be able to speak with people from the USA or France. Of course it was a good english exercise too!

We feel like it is our responsability (and our pleasure) to make this place better, more fun and enjoyable. Therefore, a more sustainable and connected neighborhood. Build a community and connections might be the way to make this world a lot more interesting and positive!
