What is different about us?

Coliving community in Canary Islands, members havig fun in the neighborhood

I’m going to be very honest with you, I have never liked to copy. EcoIsleta has always tried to build original projects that have value and meaning for us.

Core Values and Differentiation…

Sustainability

Open Community

Local Impact

Opening a certified organic store and a sustainable coliving in the city of Las Palmas is not easy at all…

But those challenges give meaning to life, in addition to allowing you to discover your true identity as a person…

Coliving with community or without community?

The Coliving sector is growing, we can see many new accommodations calling themselves Coliving.

For us, a coliving is a space with a clear community purpose, focus on the community that is intended to create…

But many new Colings, do not have a community.

They are spaces where you can work and share areas of the house, but there is no purpose in creating a community among those living in that accommodation…

What is EcoIsleta?

We are building a community with a sustainable approach, where healthy relationships are generated between the members of our Coliving.

Therefore, the community aspect of our coliving is one of the differentiating elements. Remember that you cannot copy a community.

Each coliving is different…

If you had the opportunity to stay at a few Colivings, you would have realized that each space is different and has its own identity.

The communities and purposes of each accommodation can differ greatly from each other.

There are Coliving that focus on business and productivity, where conversations revolve around work.

Others seek to help Remote Workers lead a more balanced life, through outdoor activities or yoga.

Some colivings have a party atmosphere, there are coworking areas in these accommodations but after work, the party starts, inside or outside of the accommodation.

Why are we different?

You are here to understand why we are different from other colvings.

Basically for three reasons, Sustainability, Open community, and Local Impact… let me explain you further…

Sustainability

We are concerned and conscious about the environmental impact of our activity and on those who stay with us…

The implementation of various sustainable measures and strategies makes us different from most colivings. More info about all of them in Sustainable Coliving

Our coliving is located in a 125-year-old traditional home for Port workers.

Many Colivings are restored houses, but we do not know if any have built all their furniture by hand.

We built, desks, beds, wardrobes, and even the kitchen are made by us.

We also have an Organic shop a few meters from Coliving, you can make your purchases of fresh and organic local products in an easy way and with a discount if you stay with us.

Open Community

Perhaps this is what differentiates us the most, locals or other remote workers in the city can join our activities.

Our Coliving opens at certain times of the week, generating relaxed moments to meet other people who share our values.

I have to be honest, some people don’t like our open approach.

We are an open community because we want to avoid becoming a bubble within the neighborhood, isolated from the social problems that surround us.

But we also want other people to see what we do and how we do it so that more sustainable accommodations can emerge on the island.

Local Impact

Another one is related to the local impact, which is why we are an open community.

Organically, we propose to the members of our coliving activities that can have an impact on the local community.

For example, we have gone on several occasions to a High School in our neighborhood to explain how remote work will affect the lives of students in the future…

We also take tours of the area to explain and make our identity known. Together with clean-ups, in the near volcanoes and El Confital beach.
