Answers to some of your questions
If you read our coliving Frequently Asked Questions section carefully, you will realize that we are very honest and clear with the questions and, above all, with the answers.
Why?
- We’re here to help you choose what’s best for you.
- Meet your expectations.
- Reflect, we are a humble and simple accommodation, not suitable for all types of travelers.
What is Coliving?
Coliving is a form of shared accommodation that seeks to create an intentional community, where people live together and develop relationships based on collaboration, respect, and mutual learning.
A Coliving is not a shared apartment, but from the accommodation, an extensive work is developed in order to build community.
What type of coliving is EcoIsleta?
We are a small and short-term coliving. With average stays of our colivers between two weeks and a month and a half.
Our community is composed of about 7 people.
- Ideal for those who want to have their first Coliving experience.
- Intimate and cozy.
- Quiet. Low intensity of community activities.
Who is Coliving for?

- Digital Nomads
What makes us different?

- Local impact – we are very committed to our neighborhood.
Where does your money go?

We reinvest a lot of money each year in improving and maintaining our 127-year-old Coliving.

Reservation process
Do we have hidden commissions?
On a personal level, we travel a lot, so we don’t like to find surprises when we arrive at a destination.
In EcoIsleta, we are clear with the rates, you can see them on the web, and when you make the reservation, we send you detailed information about everything included in the payment.
There are no extra charges. You only have to take into account that there are several rooms with air conditioning and that you have to pay separately.
It is also good to remember that some of our amenities are chargeable during the low season. All this information is sent before making the payment.
Why can’t I see the occupancy on the web?
We are a very small accommodation, we manage reservations directly, and for now, we don’t have software to manage reservations.
So the calendar is not available on the web.
How long does it take to respond to a reservation request?
Depending on the day of the week, it may be only a few hours.
I have sent my reservation request, but I haven’t received a reply…
If in 24 hours we have not answered you, maybe your request has gone to our spam box, it has happened to us some times, in that case, try to call us 34 624897153
Important – If your email account is Hotmail, check your Spam folder, because our answer may be there.
Why is Coliving more expensive than a shared apartment?
Simply because a Coliving is not a shared apartment, there are services and services must be charged for.
When you arrive at a Coliving, the bed is made and clean, the wifi works and you can cook yourself some fried eggs. To make it all happen, several people have worked many hours before your check-in.
Some of the expenses we have are…
- Cleaning of common areas and rooms
- Maintenance
- Electricity, Water, wifi
- Amenities
- Taxes
- Marketing and advertising
- Community
In this post, we explain it in detail. Coliving prices.

How many people live in EcoIsleta Coliving?
The Coliving has 7 rooms with a maximum occupancy of 7 people and if there were a couple, about 9 people.

You are looking for a 5 Star Hotel, but you want to stay in a Coliving…
All our communication is focused on making it clear that EcoIsleta Coliving is a place where we try to make the basics work. Don’t expect luxuries.
Your expectations must be in line with our proposal.
We hope for some understanding on your part, for the price we charge, we cannot offer a hotel service.
EcoIsleta seeks to be a shared space, where the important thing is the community experience, friendships, collaborations, shared dinners.
How soundproof is the room?
On this point we are very clear, our Coliving is a 127 year old traditional house. We are not a soundproof hotel and you cannot expect not to hear noise in your room.
We are really a normal house adapted to be a Coliving.
If you are very sensitive to noise, please mention it in your application, so that we can help you choose a room.
In general the house is quiet, and at night no noise can be made after 10 pm.
Is it hot in the room?
Not in winter, it is normal to use a blanket to sleep.
The house is old and has very high ceilings, some rooms have 3 m high ceilings. So the rooms are usually cool.
For occasional moments of high temperatures in summer or if you need to ventilate the room, all rooms have ceiling fans or air conditioning. So this should not be a problem.
Can I lock my bedroom door?
The doors of the rooms have security locks, locking from the inside and outside.
What kind of mattresses and pillows will I find?
Mattresses of the Flex Delta brand. With pocket springs that improve sleep quality, biscoelastic, medium firmness, breathable, hypoallergenic. With fireproof anti-bug lining.
The size of the mattresses is 1.90 m long x 0.90 m wide. In the double rooms there are two beds of these sizes.
Flex Ney pillows, ergonomic biscolastic design, high breathability, hypoallergenic cover and medium firmness.
I have to share my room with someone
You don’t have to put up with anyone’s snoring.
Rooms are not shared with strangers. All our rooms are private
Bathrooms
Can I have my own bathroom?
We have one en-suite bedroom, which is located on the second floor. The other rooms in the house have shared bathrooms.
There are two shared bathrooms for the rest of the rooms, so there is one bathroom for every 3 rooms.
We have no complaints with the shared bathrooms, and if one is occupied, the other is usually free.
Water heaters
- Second floor 50 liters
- Second Floor 30 liters
I can’t stand going to dirty shared bathrooms.
Neither do we. What we do to avoid it is…
- We put a lot of effort into internal communication to ensure correct usage.
- If for any reason the bathroom is dirty, we strongly request that we be notified immediately so that it can be cleaned.
- We professionally clean the bathrooms a minimum of 3 times a week, more than enough to keep them very clean.
I need to go to the bathroom urgently, but someone is taking a long shower.
In general there are no complaints with the bathrooms, and as the house is small and with only 7 members, the bathrooms are usually unoccupied.
It is difficult for both bathrooms to be occupied at the same time.

Photos of the Coliving bathrooms.
Cleaning
I’m going to find a dirty and messy Coliving
We will make every effort to ensure that this does not happen.
To achieve this, we clean the bathrooms and kitchen three times a week. But depending on occupancy it can be more. At least twice a week.
We try to clean in the afternoons, so as not to disturb work hours, but if we have check-ins, we clean in the morning.
I am a dirty and messy person
Houston, we have a problem…
I have absolutely nothing against this type of traveler, but believe it or not, a messy and dirty person can destroy the coexistence and sense of community in a Coliving.
So if this is your case, we ask you to look for another accommodation.
Think twice… we are not talking about cleaning, but about serenity, a less aggressive communication and a collective energy focused on the right things…
If you visit our Coliving you will realize how important cleanliness is to us.
Can I wash my underpants?
We have a washing machine, which you can use at no extra cost.
In our Ecologic store, you can buy some detergent in bulk if you need to run a single washing machine.
Where can I dry my clothes after washing them?
In the Canary Islands we have good weather almost all year round, so you can dry your clothes on the clotheslines on the terrace and in a few hours they should be dry.
We have two, so there are usually no problems drying clothes.
Do I have to dispose of my garbage during my stay?
We separate the Coliving waste into 5 different garbage cans.
We also manage waste, so you don’t have to worry about disposing of garbage during your stay.
Noise
Is there any construction work or noise during the day?

Uhhh… well, well, well…
From 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. there is no noise. Normally our members work from the morning, so many of them go to bed early.
How many parties with DJ and open bar do we do per week?
We like them… but… there is always a “but” to answer this question…
Parties are not allowed in the Coliving, if there is excessive noise, we have installed a system that measures the decibels, to control the noise level in the Coliving.
If there was too much noise, an alarm would sound.

If the group that is living in EcoIsleta at the moment prefers to keep the coworking in silence and without video calls, you can talk about it and decide it among yourselves. We try to adapt EcoIsleta to the needs of our members.
As you can see, the coworking area is a chill space.
