In EcoIsleta we work hard to be a Zero Tolerance Coliving. Taking very seriously sexual assault and harassment, we consider ourselves a safe community and we encourage healthy relationships, we must respect each other. We have to break the stigma about this topic and face it strongly…
Respect is not optional. Everyone staying at EcoIsleta is expected to respect other people’s boundaries, privacy and consent.
EcoIsleta is located in a safe neighborhood of Las Palmas. We live nearby and can be contacted when necessary.
What we do
We have implemented different measures and policies to avoid and prevent our colivers from any inappropriate behavior.
- We don’t have lack of clarity in accountability with perpetrators.
- Technology is key in preventing these incidents…
- Individuals must be held accountable for their actions…
Community members
- We carefully select our members, we know and talk with colivers before coming.
- Most of our members are young travelers or remote workres. No one is living long-term or permantly in the accomodation, everyone is short term…
- EcoIsleta is a small community with relatively long stays. We don’t operate as a short-stay hostel or a high-turnover accommodation for weekends, and we get to know our guests before they arrive.
Room security
- Every room in the house has a lock and key. Doors can be looked from inside and outside.
Parties are not aloowed
- We have a system to monitor the level of noise in the house, the name is Minut. With this tecnology we can avoid any kind of parties in the property. No private conversation is recorded, more info in www.minut.com
- We don’t support a culture of excessive drinking…
Zero Tolerance Coliving policy of inappropriate behavior
- We will provide a conflict mediator to help you in conflicts or to tackle inconvenient situations from the beginning… We take every report seriously. We will listen, document what happened when appropriate, and take reasonable steps to protect the person involved and the community.
- Everybody in our Coliving will be asked to give his/her ID or Passport in the Check In, nobody without identification could stay in the house.
- We have a Security camera in the front door, we can monitor who enters the house and when. A security camera covers the entrance to the property. It does not record private netiher common areas or rooms.
- We will help and encourage you to report every incident to the police, we are a legal accommodation listed in the government database.
- Serious or inappropriate behaviour may result in the person being asked to leave the Coliving, in accordance with our house rules and applicable law.
