If you are thinking about coming to our Coliving in La Isleta for a few weeks, this post will help you to understand some of the most Frequently asked questions<\/span><\/strong> about this part of the city\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coliving in La Isleta<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

EcoIsleta Coliving is located in the La Isleta neighborhood, in a traditional 2-floor Canarian house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, 7 to 9 remote workers live, for one to 3 months on average. They share the common spaces, the coworking area, the Chill Out, and the terrace. Each one has an individual room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the few colivings in the world focused on a sustainable lifestyle<\/a>, and community activities are focused in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is it like to live in La Isleta?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La Isleta is a neighborhood linked to La Luz Port, which is its origin, so it\u00b4s a multicultural and cosmopolitan neighborhood, where you will find people coming from all corners of the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u00b4ll see that locals talk a lot, greet each other, and start conversations that can last a long time…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Canarian population is very used to dealing with all types of cultures, so you\u00b4ll feel welcome from the first moment.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The streets of the neighborhood are full of traditional, single-family houses, many residents work in Puerto de La Luz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transportation<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In La Isleta, we are super connected<\/span><\/strong>, car, taxi, bus, and bicycle. The main highway of the island of Gran Canaria reaches La Isleta<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the city, we have a good public transportation<\/span><\/strong> system and if you want to move around or visit other neighborhoods, you can do it comfortably with yellow buses, they pass less than 100 meters from our Coliving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can get around walking throughout the city, but there are also public bike systems<\/span><\/strong> that are rented by the hour or week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine that you want to visit the island, any part of the island, whether the countryside or the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

100 Meters from our Coliving there is a main street with buses that can take you to the main stations in less than 5 minutes, from where you can then catch other buses that travel out of the city to other parts of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to or from the Airport<\/span><\/strong> is very simple and can be done by public transport for less than 3 euros, it is comfortable and very reliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, we are very well located and communication with means of transport is easy, reliable, and cheap.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where to buy? Shops and Supermarkets<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Highlight<\/span><\/strong>– You can do everything from shopping to sports on foot<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine that you are very hungry<\/span><\/strong> and need to eat quickly. In less than 3 minutes from our accommodation, you can buy some food and in less than 5 minutes start cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or you are working and your computer or iPhone breaks<\/span><\/strong>, in less than 1 minute you can be talking to a professional who has spare parts in the store-workshop and can repair it, they are 100 meters from our Coliving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even more complicated, you want to buy a book to read<\/span><\/strong> something, and you need it to be in English, in less than a 15-minute walk, there are two large bookstores where you can find many books in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area is full of stores of all kinds, from places to buy and repair an iPhone to supermarkets perfectly stocked with all kinds of fresh and packaged products.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From our coliving you have everything very close, walking you can make purchases of all kinds, from food, clothes, utensils, towels, a computer, an iPhone, etc… <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You don\u00b4t need to travel by means of transport to make purchases.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, a 15-minute walk from Coliving you have the El Corte Ingles shopping area<\/span><\/strong>, with department stores and many quality shops in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few meters from our Coliving there is another Shopping Center called El Muelle, with shops, supermarkets, leisure areas, restaurants and Gyms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restaurants, take away\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sitting on Las Canteras Beach, which is less than 300 meters from our Coliving, after a day of work to have a drink, and eat while enjoying the sunset, is something that you won\u00b4t forget so easily…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this aspect, La Isleta and La Playa de Las Canteras are one of the areas with the most restaurant offerings in the entire city.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have restaurants of all types and for all tastes, the vast majority of which you can walk to or take a stroll along the Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is also a very good offer of precooked food, which you can buy for the whole week or the days that suit you for work reasons, from vegan food to hamburgers…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What to visit, what to do\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are afternoons or days when you don’t work, or when you want to disconnect. Your body asks for it, you need it, but you don’t want to go far, just something close where relaxing for some time…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around La Isleta, we have several museums<\/span><\/strong>, such as the Castillo de La Luz Museum or the La Regenta Art Center and the Museum of Science and Technology\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a nearby park with an old castle and it is about 150 meters from our coliving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a cafeteria, so have a drink, enjoy a book, and observe the neighbors with families, who perhaps also come to have a drink\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking along Avenida de la Playa de Las Canteras, or doing some sports in the natural area next to the neighborhood is something that many of our colivers do\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights –<\/span><\/strong> You have to go one night to Bodegon Pachici<\/span><\/strong>, near the coliving, about a 15-minute walk away, it is a traditional place with Canarian food and good local beer at a very good price\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beach, better said The Beaches near the coliving<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How can you recharge your batteries, relax, enjoy the sea and the \u200b\u200bsun<\/span><\/strong>, places to feel incredibly good after working, very simply, on the beach<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main advantages of a Coliving in La Isleta is that we are very close to one of the best urban beaches in the world, I’m not saying that, it’s said by those who know a lot about beaches…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Less than 300 meters away from our coliving we have Las Canteras Beach, a 3 km long sandy beach, protected by a natural barrier where the waves break.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finishing work or taking a break from work and being able to go swimming at the beach is something you should consider if you decide to come to La Isleta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also do surfing and other sports\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But we didn’t stick with that beach, about 700 meters from Coliving there is another beach, called El Confital, a beach with one of the best surf waves in the world and where many residents and colivers usually go to walk, run, or ride a bike during the afternoon\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sports<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You have too many options around our coliving, from Gyms to Surf, outdoor sports all year around…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
